Open Communication With Russia on Nuclear Nonproliferation 'Essential' - US Energy Dept.

Unobstructed communication channels between the United States and Russia are essential for promoting nuclear safety and advancing nonproliferation, US Department of Energy spokesperson Shaylyn Hynes said on Wednesday ahead of Energy Secretary Rick Perry's visit to Moscow.

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 12th September, 2018) Unobstructed communication channels between the United States and Russia are essential for promoting nuclear safety and advancing nonproliferation, US Department of Energy spokesperson Shaylyn Hynes said on Wednesday ahead of Energy Secretary Rick Perry's visit to Moscow.

"Advancing nuclear nonproliferation and promoting international nuclear safety is a critical part of the Secretary's responsibilities and open lines of communication with Russia are essential to fulfill that role," Haynes said.
