MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th February, 2019) OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Miroslav Lajcak said Tuesday that he was going to request information from OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Harlem Desir on Facebook's ban on several projects partially owned by an RT subsidiary.

Last week, Facebook suspended pages of projects run by Maffick Media, which is partly owned by the Ruptly video agency, a subsidiary of RT.

Facebook did not give Maffick Media any prior warning. According to Maffick's statement, the social network was "pressured" into doing so by the CNN that had run a story on Maffick's perceived ties to the Kremlin.

"There is the OSCE media representative office chaired by Desir, an experienced politician. I will contact him to request his assessment of the situation and recommendations," Lajcak said at talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
