Over 10 Countries Express Condolences Over Ethiopia Plane Crash

The authorities of more than 10 countries have extended their condolences to the families of those who were killed in the deadly crash of a Boeing 737 aircraft in Ethiopia on Sunday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 11th March, 2019) The authorities of more than 10 countries have extended their condolences to the families of those who were killed in the deadly crash of a Boeing 737 aircraft in Ethiopia on Sunday.

The Nairobi-bound flight ET302 following crashed early Sunday, minutes after taking off from the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa. All 157 people from over 30 countries who were on board were killed. The causes of the accident are yet unknown. According to the airline, the plane was well-maintained.

"We are deeply saddened with news about the crash of #Ethiopian airlines aircraft heading to #Nairobi.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to friendly people of Ethiopia and wish courage and patience to relatives of all those who lost their lives in this terrible accident," the Armenian Foreign Ministry wrote on Twitter.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has extended his condolences to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and all countries that lost their compatriots.

Ireland, Turkey, Georgia, Cuba, Sweden, Namibia, Peru, Bolivia, Gambia, Somalia and South Africa have also expressed their condolences.
