Over 100 Refugees Returned to Syria From Lebanon Over Past 24 Hours - Russian Military

A total of 108 Syrians returned to their homes from Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Refugee Reception, Distribution and Settlement said on Saturday.

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd September, 2018) A total of 108 Syrians returned to their homes from Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Refugee Reception, Distribution and Settlement said on Saturday.

"Over the past day, 108 refugees (32 women and 55 children) returned from Lebanon to Syria via the Jaydet-Yabus checkpoint," the statement said.

As many as 14,470 Syrians have returned to their home country from abroad since July 18, including 14,152 of them from Lebanon, according to the bulletin.

A total of 388 internally displaced Syrians have returned to their homes over the past 24 hours, the center added.

More than 5.6 million people have fled Syria and over 6.6 million have been internally displaced since the start of the conflict in Syria in 2011, according to the United Nations.

Lebanon has taken in over 1 million Syrian refugees during the armed conflict in Syria.
