Over 1,100 Syrians Return Home From Jordan, Lebanon Over Past 24 Hours - Russian Military

A total of 1,126 Syrian refugees returned to their home country from neighboring Jordan and Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides and Refugee Migration Monitoring said on Wednesday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th April, 2019) A total of 1,126 Syrian refugees returned to their home country from neighboring Jordan and Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides and Refugee Migration Monitoring said on Wednesday.

"Over the past day, in total 1,126 people returned to the Syrian Arab Republic from the territory of foreign states: 345 people ([including] 103 women and 176 children) left Lebanon for Syria via the Jaydet-Yabus and Talkalakh CPs [checkpoints], and 781 people ([including] 234 women and 398 children) from Jordan via the Nassib CP," the center said in its daily bulletin.

In addition, 761 internally displaced Syrians returned to their homes over the given period, the center added.

Meanwhile, Syrian engineering units removed mines from 2 hectares (5 acres) of land in the provinces of Damascus and Daraa, defusing 27 explosive devices, the center said.

The Russian military carries out regular humanitarian operations across Syria and assists the Syrian government with the repatriation of refugees.
