Over 2,800 foreign and over 700 Vietnamese journalists requested accreditation for the upcoming US-North Korea summit, which will be held in Hanoi later this month, according to numbers on a special page of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry's website
Accreditation requests were accepted online from February 16 to February 21.
Foreign and Vietnamese applications were registered separately. The numbers on each list were assigned in order, from 0001 and higher. The last number on the list of foreign media applications was 2,831, while the last one on the Vietnamese media list was 747.
US President Donald Trump and North Korean Chairman Kim Jong Un will hold their second meeting on February 27-28 in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi.
The first US-North Korean summit in Singapore, held last June, resulted in an agreement stipulating that Pyongyang would make efforts to promote the complete denuclearization in exchange for the United States and South Korea freezing their military drills.
