ADDIS ABABA (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 10th February, 2019) Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi will be successful in promoting progress in the African Union (AU) during his AU chairmanship, Mahmoud Abbas, the president of Palestine, said at the opening ceremony of the 32nd AU Summit on Sunday.
Egypt is taking over AU chairmanship from Rwanda at the event.
"We wish the Egyptian chair, [who] will take over the mantle, President Abdel Fattah Sisi, success in 2019, and we are convinced that he will score victories with his wisdom and make the AU achieve more progress and more prosperity," Abbas said.
