Pashinyan, Putin May Meet Thursday On Sidelines Of CIS Summit - Armenian Ambassador

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin may hold Thursday a meeting on the sidelines of the summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in the Tajik capital of Dushanbe, Armenian Ambassador to Russia Vardan Toganyan told reporters on Tuesday.
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 25th September, 2018) Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin may hold Thursday a meeting on the sidelines of the summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in the Tajik capital of Dushanbe, Armenian Ambassador to Russia Vardan Toganyan told reporters on Tuesday.
The CIS Council of Heads of State and Council of Foreign Ministers will gather in Dushanbe on Thursday.
"They will meet in Dushanbe within several days," Toganyan said.
The ambassador noted that it was difficult to say when Putin would pay an official visit to Yerevan.
"It is difficult to say, different variants are being proposed. This year there will be some meetings between the leaders of the two states.
There will be a session of the Collective Security Council of CSTO [Collective Security Treaty Organization] in Astana, then there will be the EAEU [Eurasian Economic Union] summit in December," Toganyan said.
Earlier in September, Putin met Pashinyan in Moscow. During the meeting the parties discussed a number of issues of bilateral and international agenda. The Armenian prime minister said that he had invited Putin to visit Yerevan. According to Pashinyan, Putin is going to visit Armenia in the near future. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed Putin's plans to visit Yerevan but pointed out that the date was not determined yet.
