Pence Calls On US Congress To Pass Massive Trade Deal With Mexico, Canada This Summer

The US Congress needs to pass the United States-Mexico-Canada (USMCA) trade agreement this summer to help maintain America's economic expansion, Vice President Mike Pence told the advocacy group America First Policies on Monday
"We need Congress to approve the USMCA this summer to keep America growing," Pence said.
More than 2 million manufacturing jobs that depend on US exports to Canada and Mexico will immediately benefit from the trade agreement, Pence added.
Earlier on Monday, Canada and Mexico lifted tariffs on steel, aluminum and other products three days after US President Donald Trump exempted both trading partners from steel and aluminum tariffs.
The action removed a major hurdle for passage of the USMCA, although some analysts have warned that congressional approval will require overcoming skepticism by some Democratic lawmakers.
