WARSAW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st March, 2019) Polish flag carrier LOT will seek compensation from US aircraft maker Boeing after its fleet of 737 Max jets was grounded following two crashes within five months, the carrier's spokesman said Thursday.
"We will seek compensation for losses, incurred additional costs and lost profits [caused by the machine's grounding]," Adrian Kubicki told the Gazeta Prawna newspaper.
The airline said in a press release it had to rent four older 737 Boeings to replace the five Max planes that were pulled from schedules at the demand of Polish aviation authorities after an Ethiopian 737 Max 8 crashed after taking off from Addis Ababa on March 10, killing all 157 people on board. An Indonesian Lion Air jet of the same model plunged into the Java Sea last October, killing 189 people.
