Pompeo Says Trump Interested In Meeting With Russian President In Osaka - Kremlin Aide

SOCHI (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 15th May, 2019) US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday that US President Donald Trump was interested in meeting the Russian leader during the 2019 G20 Summit in Osaka, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said, adding that everybody was interested in such a meeting.

"Trump said he was ready to meet Putin in Osaka, the same thing was confirmed today by the [US] secretary of state. We are ready for holding any meetings, maintaining any contacts, especially at the top level as they are very important," Ushakov told reporters.

"It seems that not only we, but everyone will profit if the presidents of the two leading countries have a calm conversation on urgent issues," the Kremlin aide added.

The 2019 G20 Summit will be held from June 28 to June 29 in the Japanese city of Osaka.
