It is important to prevent the emergence of a vacuum of power in Syria following the withdrawal of US troops from the war-torn Arab republic, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday after talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow
"It is critical not to allow a vacuum [of power] to replace the American troops in Syria once they withdraw. We must prevent Syria from being taken over by lawlessness after the Americans leave [the country]," Erdogan said.
