ST PETERSBURG (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th September, 2018) President of Serbian National Assambly Maja Gojkovic on Thursday urged to pay attention to the rise of popularity of the nazi ideology worldwide and attempts to glorify it in some countries.
"Our women international parliamentary family shares a common approach toward challenges and we need an concerted effort to respond to modern challenges such as social, economic and growing security challenges. One of them and a very covering one is an increase of violence and terrorism, nazism and neo-nazism, growing efforts aimed at destroying memories about WWII and our common fight against nazism and what is more dangerous we also witness attempts to glorify nazism in some states," Gojkovic said at the Eurasian Women's Forum.
In late June, the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) said in a report that Europe saw high levels of xenophobic populism and hate speech last year amid the prolonged migration crisis in the region.
