MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th August, 2018) Russian President Vladimir Putin may meet one-on-one with Turkeys Recep Tayyip Erdogan next month on the margins of trilateral Syria talks in Tehran, Iran, Russian media reported Friday.

A Turkish presidential spokesman said a new summit by the three guarantor states of the Syrian peace was set for early September.

Putins spokesman Dmitry Peskov said a possible meeting was in the works.

A Russian newspaper, Izvestia, cited Peskov as saying early on Friday that a separate meeting by Russian and Turkish presidents could take place on the sidelines of Tehran talks.

The two leaders last met eye-to-eye on the sidelines of the BRICS emerging economies' summit in Johannesburg, South Africa. They discussed economic cooperation and Syria.
