Russian President Vladimir Putin held a working breakfast with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Saturday morning and asked her about her plans for the G20 summit.
The leaders met in the Alvear Palace hotel on the sidelines of the ongoing G20 summit in the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires.
Putin warmly welcomed Merkel and asked her about her plans for the summit.
Along with Putin, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov and Russia's G20 Sherpa Svetlana Lukash also took part in the working breakfast.
The Germany party was represented by chancellor's press secretary, Steffen Seibert, foreign policy adviser Jan Hecker and Germany's G20 Sherpa Lars-Hendrik Roeller.
The G20 summit started on Friday and will last through Saturday.
The German chancellor arrived in Buenos Aires late on Friday after a delay which followed her plane's unscheduled stop on Cologne en route to the Argentine capital. The emergency landing was caused by a technical malfunction.
