MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 15th February, 2019) Russian President Vladimir Putin in fact has not injured his finger during recent judo sparring and feels good, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.
On Thursday, Putin had a sparring with 2016 Olympic judo champion Beslan Mudranov in the resort city of Sochi, during which he injured one of the fingers on his right hand.
The incident did not prevent Putin from continuing the training.
"[Putin] feels good. He feels excellent and is going to meet President [of Belarus Alexander] Lukashenko and after that to play hockey ... During one of the holds [Putin] hurt a finger ... That is a routine trauma. There is nothing terrible here, that is not an injury, in fact. Sports are sports," Peskov told reporters.
Putin is a judo master of sports and holds regular sparrings with various opponents.
