MESEBERG (Germany) (UrduPoint news / Sputnik - 19th August, 2018) Russian President Vladimir Putin has no plans to hold a meeting on his aide Andrei Belousov's initiative to withdraw excess profits from mining and chemical companies, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday.
Last week, Peskov confirmed that Belousov, in a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, proposed that budget revenues from the mining and chemical sectors' excess profits should be increased because these companies paid lower taxes than oil and gas enterprises. The aide proposed to make the companies pay more than 500 billion rubles (some $7.
5 billion) for 2017. Peskov said the Putin had ordered the government to explore the issue.
"No. The president cannot hold meetings on all the issues that are being considered by the government," Putin told reporters answering the question whether Putin was going to hold a meeting on Belousov'sinitiative.
The spokesman pointed out that there was an expert point of view on the issue as well as Putin's approval of discussions.
"We see different points of view. Everything will be formulated," Peskov added.
