Putin To Discuss Bilateral Relations With Tajik Counterpart On April 16-17 - Kremlin

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Tajik counterpart, Emomali Rahmon, will discuss bilateral relations and development of cooperation in various fields during their talks later in the week, the Kremlin's press office said on Monday
"Key issues of bilateral relations and measures for further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other fields will be discussed during the talks. There will also be an exchange of views on current regional issues," the press office said.
It also stressed that the meeting would end with signature of several joint documents.
Emomali Rahmon will come to Russia on official visit by Putin's invitation on April 16-17.
The president of Tajikistan has visited Moscow at least 11 times. The latest visits took place in February 2014, in October 2015 and in October 2017.
Tajikistan is a Russian strategic partner and an ally in the Central Asian region. Russian-Tajik relations are characterized by an intensive political dialogue and cooperation in various fields. Both states are members of such organizations as the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and the Shanghai cooperation organization.
As for trade, both Russia and Tajikistan are members of the CIS Free Trade Area.
