MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th January, 2019) Russian President Vladimir Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov has denied the importance of a successful marriage for a leader of a nation, in an interview with the Argumenty i Fakty weekly.
Asked whether a president would be better off single or married, Peskov said that "I doubt Putin gives it much thought and I do not think I have a right to ask.
But married or not, this does not affect his performance."
Vladimir and Lyudmila Putin announced their separation in June 2013 after almost 30 years of marriage. They have two daughters together. Asked if he planned to remarry, Putin told reporters at a press conference last month that, as a decent man, he would eventually "have to do that."
