Doha, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jul, 2018 ) :Jordanian Labour Minister Samir Murad, said he had agreed with Qatari Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Issa Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi, on providing about 1,000 jobs for Jordanians as a first step until September.
Speaking at a press conference with his Qatari counterpart in Doha, Murad said the other job opportunities, within the Qatar initiative to provide 10,000 jobs for Jordanian youth, should be announced soon.
Qatar pledged to facilitate granting visas to Jordanian jobseekers, the minister noted.
Jordan and Qatar have agreed to form a joint committee of both countries' ministries of labour, to work on providing the first 1000 jobs and possibly 2000 for the Jordanian youth until September as quick as possible, Murad indicated.
He added that a comprehensive database for Jordanian jobseekers will be set up and handed to business owners in Qatar, as well as communicate with the owners of companies and employers through the chambers of commerce in the two countries.
The minister explained that targeted job opportunities will be scientific and technical in the sectors of medicine, nursing, medical laboratories, pharmacy, construction, agriculture, banking, finance, insurance and education.
He stressed that Jordan will provide, through the available job opportunities, full support for the 2022 World Cup projects in Qatar. The Qatar initiative will contribute to reducing the unemployment rate, which accounts for 18.5 percent, equivalent to 280,000 unemployed, Murad said.
The Qatari minister said the job opportunities that will be made available will include many sectors, including health, education, finance, banking, services, construction, agriculture and livestock.
He added that the joint committee, which was formed today, will coordinate, follow up and overcome any difficulties or obstacles that may face jobseekers in Jordan.
