The board of French car maker Renault will meet later Tuesday to discuss the fate of CEO Carlos Ghosn following his arrest in Japan for alleged financial misconduct, a company spokesperson told AFP.

Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire told French radio that Ghosn, who heads the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, was no longer in a position to lead Renault and that the state, which has a minority stake in the carmaker, would call for a new interim management team.
