Representative Of Tajikistan Becomes Head Of SCO Regional Anti-Terror Body - Tashkent

Tajikistan's representative Dzhumakhon Giyosov assumed the office of director of the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday in a statement.
"Starting January 1, 2019, in accordance with the decision of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, representative of Tajikistan Dzhumakhon Giyosov has been director of the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure, headquartered in Tashkent," the statement said.
Giyosov, who was SCO RATS deputy director in 2017-2018, replaced Russia's Yevgeniy Sysoyev as director of the anti-terrorist body.
The SCO, established in 2001, comprises Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan and India. The organization promotes political, security and economic cooperation among its members.
