Rescuers Started Extinguishing Kerch Strait Tanker Fire - Marine Rescue Service

KRASNODAR (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd January, 2019) A rescue vessel has started extinguishing the fire that broke out on board two Tanzania-flagged tankers in the Kerch Strait, a spokesperson of the local department of the Russian Marine Rescue Service told Sputnik.
"Our vessel 'Spasatel Demidov' is extinguishing the fire," the spokesperson said.
According to preliminary information, the fire broke out during the transfer of the liquefied natural gas from one vessel to another. Russia's Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transportation (Rosmorrechflot) said that at least 11 sailors were found dead and 12 others were rescued following the incident.�
