RPT - PREVIEW - Second Eurasian Women's Forum In St. Petersburg To Discuss Global Security, Sustainability

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th September, 2018) The Second Eurasian Women's Forum, which gathers state officials, the business and scientific communities, as well as prominent leaders of the feminist movement from across the world, opens on Wednesday in the Russian city of St. Petersburg under the slogan 'Women for Global Security and Sustainable Development."
According to the organizers, representatives of 30 international organizations such as the Council of Europe, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and the United Nations, as well as delegations from more than 117 countries, including the United States, are expected to attend the forum, which will run on September 19-21.
The program for the Second Eurasian Women's Forum addresses the growing demand for the greater involvement of women in tackling urgent problems as well as building effective cooperation in supporting innovations, developing the digital economy, ensuring environmental security and supporting humanitarian projects.
The Second Eurasian Women's Forum will feature a whole range of international discussion platforms, meetings, debates and research projects by international organizations and associations, including a special session of UN Industrial Development Organization, UN cultural agency UNESCO's expert platform, a report by the World Health Organization, presentation of research by the International Labour Organization and a meeting of the BRICS Women Business Club.
The first Eurasian Women's Forum was held on September 24-25, 2015, also in St. Petersburg.
