Russia has accepted Iran's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty for three years, thus Iranian exporters can utilize the special tariffs for exporting to the region, said the Head of Iran-Russia Joint Chamber of Commerce.
"Iran's membership can lead to the export of the commodities that did not have economic feasibility due to the tariffs," said Hadi Tizhoosh-Taban on Thursday.
He referred to the opening of Iran Trade Center in Russia's southern city of Astrakhan, adding that the center has enough potential to help Iranian traders to effectively trade in such markets.
Russia imports over 36 billion Dollar worth foodstuff and Iran can win a good share of it, he stressed.
Tizhoosh-Taban added that the Iran-Russia Joint Chamber of Commerce has recently aimed at legislating laws in order to upgrade Iran's foodstuff standards to match that of Russia to facilitate the exports.
Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) is established by some Asian and European countries including Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikstan, and Uzbekistan to help promote the economic affairs of its members.
