Russia, India To Discuss Joint Production Of Tank Shells At Army-2018 Forum - Manufacturer

Russia and India are expected to discuss the joint production of tank ammunition at international defense industry forum Army-2018, due to start in the Moscow region on Tuesday, the director general of Russias Techmash ammunition manufacturer said on Monday.
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th August, 2018) Russia and India are expected to discuss the joint production of tank ammunition at international defense industry forum Army-2018, due to start in the Moscow region on Tuesday, the director general of Russias Techmash ammunition manufacturer said on Monday.
"We are planning to discuss the joint development of 125mm shells for T-72 and T-90 tanks, which have an improved technical performance in comparison with Mango shells [for tanks]," Vladimir Lepin told reporters.
A joint Russian-Indian enterprise producing Mango tank shells began operating in India earlier this year.
Acting General Director of the Russian Mechanical Engineering Research Institute Alexander Gorduhin told Sputnik in December that the enterprise was expected to manufacture some 200,000 shells.
