Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan To Consider Possibility Of Supplying Electricity To Iran In 2019

Companies in Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan should speed up the preparation of proposals for the sale of electricity on a united power network and consider the possibility of supplying electricity to Iran in 2019, the Russian Energy Ministry said after a meeting of the trilateral working group.
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 12th October, 2018) Companies in Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan should speed up the preparation of proposals for the sale of electricity on a united power network and consider the possibility of supplying electricity to Iran in 2019, the Russian Energy Ministry said after a meeting of the trilateral working group.
"The main topic of the talks was the coordination of the general project model and the main aspects of the feasibility study to unite the energy systems of the three countries. Following the meeting, the sides agreed that interested parties should speed up the preparation of specific proposals on electricity trade on a united power network of the three countries and consider the possibility of trial electricity deliveries to Iran in 2019," the statement said.
Earlier in the day, the Iranian deputy minister of energy for electricity and energy affairs, Homayoun Haeri, Azerbaijani Deputy Energy Minister Natig Abbasov and Russian Deputy Energy Minister Anatloly Yanovsky held talks of the trilateral working group dedicated to unifying the energy systems of the three countries.
