Russia Not Yet Invited To Forum On US 'Deal Of Century' In Bahrain-Deputy Foreign Minister

ST. PETERSBURG (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 06th June, 2019) Russia has not yet been invited to the so-called Peace to Prosperity forum in Bahrain, where the United States plans to present its long-anticipated Israeli-Palestinian conflict settlement plan, dubbed the "deal of the century," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said on Thursday on the sidelines of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

The Peace to Prosperity forum will be held in the Bahraini capital of Manama from June 25-26. Palestine intends to boycott the event in order to protest Washington's support for Israel.

"Firstly, we haven't received any invitation yet. Secondly, we qualify the idea as quite doubtful. In this case, we are certainly guided by the approach of the Palestine Liberation Organization," Bogdanov told reporters.

He added that Russia had also discussed the matter with UN leadership.

SPIEF began on Thursday and will last through Saturday. Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency is an official media partner of the forum.
