Russia is ready to cooperate with the United States on a professional level on cyber-related issues, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday
"I'd like to reiterate that [Russia] wants to and is ready to cooperate with our US partners in issues relating to the cyberspace.
We want to do this on a professional level, without emotions, without ideology and politicization," Lavrov said at a press conference in Sochi following his meeting with US State Secretary Mike Pompeo.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has suggested to US President Donald Trump to cooperate on cyber issues on several occasions, particularly last year when the United States was investigating claims that Trump had colluded with Russia to influence the 2016 presidential election in his favor. Trump welcomed the creation of a Russian-US "inpenetrable" Cyber Security unit, but no actions followed.
