Russia Ready To Lift Sanctions Against US Lawmakers On Reciprocal Basis - Senior Lawmaker

Russia is ready to lift sanctions against US lawmakers on a reciprocal basis, existing restrictions hinder inter-parliamentary dialogue, Konstantin Kosachev, the Russian upper house's International Affairs Committee head, told Sputnik.
UNITED NATIONS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 26th September, 2018) Russia is ready to lift sanctions against US lawmakers on a reciprocal basis, existing restrictions hinder inter-parliamentary dialogue, Konstantin Kosachev, the Russian upper house's International Affairs Committee head, told Sputnik.
On Tuesday, The Daily Beast reported that US Senator Rand Paul, who had recently travelled to Russia, planned to introduce an amendment during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee meeting on Wednesday that would lift sanctions against Russian lawmakers if Moscow eliminated its measures against US lawmakers.�
"Our sanctions of a similar level are exclusively reciprocal. We are always ready to lift them on a reciprocal basis as soon as they are lifeted by the party that initiated them," Kosachev said.
The lawmaker noted that "these sanctions significantly hamper our inter-parliamentary dialogue."
