Russia Records 7 Ceasefire Violations In Syria Over 24 Hours - Russian Military

The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire has registered seven truce breaches in Syria over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side has recorded 16 ceasefire violations, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 24th April, 2019) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire has registered seven truce breaches in Syria over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side has recorded 16 ceasefire violations, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.

"The Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered seven cases of firing in the province of Aleppo (3), Latakia (3) and Hama (1). The Turkish side has registered 16 cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Aleppo (5), Idlib (5), Latakia (2) and Hama (4)," the center said in its daily bulletin.

The center added that Russian military held a humanitarian action in the Hama province, delivering 30 food sets with a total weight of over 0.12 tonnes to local residents.

The number of areas that have signed reconciliation agreements did not change, standing at 2,518. The number of armed formations claiming that they observe the ceasefire similarly remained the same � 234.

Russia, alongside Turkey and Iran, is a guarantor of the ceasefire regime in Syria. Moscow has also been assisting Damascus through supporting the struggle against terrorist groups, providing humanitarian aid to local residents and facilitating the return of refugees.
