MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th November, 2018) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire has registered a total of eight ceasefire violations in the country over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side has recorded no truce breaches, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday.
"Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered eight cases of firing in the provinces of Aleppo (2), Latakia (3) and Hama (3). The Turkish side has registered no cases of ceasefire violation," the ministry said in its daily bulletin.
According to the bulletin, the reconciliation center has also carried out one humanitarian action in the Deir ez-Zor province, where local residents received 450 food sets weighing 1.
95 tonnes.
The ministry added that no new ceasefire agreements had been signed over the period. The number of armed formations claiming that they observe the ceasefire regime has not changed either, standing at 234.
Both Russia and Turkey, along with Iran, are the guarantors of the ceasefire in Syria. In September, the Russian and Turkish sides agreed to set up a demilitarized zone in the Idlib de-escalation zone in an effort to contribute to the settlement of the conflict in Syria. The Russian side has been also assisting Damascus in the reconstruction process and the repatriation of refugees.
