Russia Registers 5 Ceasefire Violations Across Syria in Past 24 Hours

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st October, 2018) Russia registered five violations of ceasefire in Syrian "de-escalation zones," agreed last year by three guarantor states, the Russian Defense Ministry said Sunday.

"Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered five cases of firing in the provinces of Aleppo (2), and Latakia (3)," the ministry's press release reads.

The Turkish side did not register any violations of the Memorandum on the establishment of de-escalation zones, signed by Russia, Turkey and Iran on May 4, 2017, according to the statement.

Over the same period, Russia's Syrian reconciliation center distributed 900 food rations among people in al-Husseiniya in the Deir ez-Zor province and in Kabrah in the Aleppo province.
