Russia Registers 6 Ceasefire Violations In Syria Over Past 24 Hours - Russian Military

The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire recorded six truce breaches in the country over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side recorded as many as 29 ceasefire violations, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria said on Friday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 05th April, 2019) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire recorded six truce breaches in the country over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side recorded as many as 29 ceasefire violations, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria said on Friday.

"Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered six cases of firing in the provinces of Aleppo (2), Idlib (2) and Hama (2). The Turkish side has registered 29 cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Hama (15), Idlib (7), Aleppo (5), Latakia (2)," the center said in its daily bulletin.

Russia has been assisting Damascus in the settlement of the civil conflict in the country for years. Russian military aircraft supported anti-terrorist operations carried out by the Syrian government forces when the war was still in its most active phase. Now, as most of the heavy fighting seems to be over, the Russian military delivers humanitarian aid across Syria and assists Damascus with the repatriation of refugees.
