MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th April, 2019) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire registered no truce breaches over the past 24 hours, while Turkey recorded five ceasefire violations, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday.
"Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered no cases of ceasefire breaches. The Turkish side has registered five cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Idlib (1), Aleppo (4)," the ministry's Center for Syrian Reconciliation said in a daily bulletin.
The center held no humanitarian operations in Syria in the given period, according to the bulletin.
Since 2017, Russia has been one of the three guarantors of the ceasefire in Syria, which has been engulfed in a civil war for years. The Russian armed forces have been providing military assistance to Damascus throughout the conflict, while also carrying out regular humanitarian operations across the country. Russia is now assisting Syria in the post-war reconstruction and the return of refugees.
