Russia to Meet Obligation on Sending UAE Astronaut to ISS - Roscosmos Chief

Russia will fulfill its obligations to send an astronaut from the United Arab Emirates to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2019, Dmitry Rogozin, general director of the Russian State Space Corporation Roscosmos said Monday.

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th November, 2018) Russia will fulfill its obligations to send an astronaut from the United Arab Emirates to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2019, Dmitry Rogozin, general director of the Russian State Space Corporation Roscosmos said Monday.

"We have met with our colleagues from the United Arab Emirates, with whom we are discussing the issue of sending a UAE astronaut to space. The launch schedule has been delayed a little because of what happened on October 11 [Soyuz-FG rocket incident], but I think that in 2019 we will fully fulfill our obligations," Rogozin said during a press conference held at the Rossiya Segodnya news agency media center.
