Russia to Respond to Upper House Staff Employee's Detention in Oslo - Speaker Matvienko

The provocation with the detention in Oslo of Russian upper house staff employee Mikhail Bochkarev, who was accused of illegally gathering information in Norway in September, will not go unpunished, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko said Monday.

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd October, 2018) The provocation with the detention in Oslo of Russian upper house staff employee Mikhail Bochkarev, who was accused of illegally gathering information in Norway in September, will not go unpunished, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko said Monday.

"Everyone who organizes such provocations should realize that this does not go unpunished," Matvienko said.

"There may be some mistakes, but there was not even the slightest reason for detention in this case," she said.

Bochkarev was detained in Oslo airport on September 21 on suspicion of illegally gathering information. Last week he was released as Norway dropped its charges.
