NUR-SULTAN (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 25th April, 2019) - Russia, Turkey and Iran seem to have reached an agreement on inviting Iraq and Lebanon to join the Astana format on Syrian reconciliation, a source at the ongoing talks in the Kazakh capital told Sputnik on Thursday.

The delegations of the Astana process guarantor states - Russia, Turkey and Iran - are holding a trilateral meeting at the moment.

"Turkey has no objections. Seems that guarantors already have an agreement on this," the source said, when asked about the possible inclusion of Iraq and Lebanon in the Astana format of talks.

The Astana-12 high-level meeting on Syria is taking place in the Kazakh capital of Nur-Sultan on Thursday-Friday.
