ANKARA (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 11th February, 2019) Defense ministries of Russia and Turkey on Monday emphasized the need to take decisive measures to ensure security in the Idlib demilitarized zone in Syria.

Russian and Turkish military officials held talks in Ankara earlier in the day.

"Despite the provocations, the sides stressed the importance and the need to continue cooperation between the intelligence services and the armed forces of the two countries to establish peace and maintain stability in Idlib," the participants of the talks said in a joint statement.

The statement also "emphasized the need for decisive measures to ensure security in the Idlib demilitarized zone."
