Russian Ambassador To UN Asks US-Led Coalition To Share Plans In Syria's Idlib

The US-led coalition in Syria should divulge its plans of future operations in the Syrian province of Idlib amid disputes over the situation on the ground, Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia said during a UN Security Council meeting on Tuesday.
WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 11th September, 2018) The US-led coalition in Syria should divulge its plans of future operations in the Syrian province of Idlib amid disputes over the situation on the ground, Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia said during a UN Security Council meeting on Tuesday.
"We would like as well to have the coalition share their plans on Syria with us," Nebenzia said in comments after US Ambassador to UN Nikki Haley delivered a statement.
Nebenzia noted that many countries have called on Moscow and Damascus to reveal their strategies for Idlib.
The Russian ambassador also said the threats by Western countries against Syria's sovereignty continue and they are no longer linked only to a possible chemical attack.
Nebenzia explained the US-led coalition is considering using force in Syria if military operations are undertaken near the de-escalation zone in Idlib.
The ambassador pointed out that UN Security Council member states should not confuse anti-terrorist operations with armed involvement.
The meeting of the UN Security Council took place following a trilateral Russia-Turkey-Iran summit of on the situation in Syria.
