The Russian Army on Tuesday received the first six BMR-3MA next-generation mine clearing vehicles, Russia's Defense Ministry said.
"The vehicle is designed on the basis of the T-90A tank.
As part of the state defense order, the manufacturer handed six vehicles over to the Russian Defense Ministry," the statement read.
The new vehicle is mainly used to clear roads from mines while escorting convoys. It is equipped with TMT-S mine plows as well as mine detection sets, according to the ministry.
BMR-3MA can accommodate two members of the crew as well as three paratroopers.
