Russian Aurus Cars to Be Displayed at Geneva Motor Show in 2019 - Ministry

Sedan and limousine versions of the Russian-made Aurus luxury cars, part of the Kortezh series of cars, will be showcased at the 2019 International Geneva Motor Show, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade said on Friday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 09th November, 2018) Sedan and limousine versions of the Russian-made Aurus luxury cars, part of the Kortezh series of cars, will be showcased at the 2019 International Geneva Motor Show, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade said on Friday.

"A decision was made that new Russian luxury cars Aurus, developed by Russia's NAMI State Research Center on the basis of a single module platform, will premier in Europe during the Geneva Motor Show. Given the demand for these cars now, and pre-orders already made for the next two years, one can expect that the brand's premiere will become a significant event at the Geneva Motor Show," Russian Trade and Energy Minister Denis Manturov said as quoted in the press release.

Aurus Senat Sedan and Aurus Senat Limousine were displayed for the first time at Moscow International automobile Salon (MIAS) in late August.

The Kortezh project envisages the creation of luxury cars for top state officials. The cars are already used by Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Federal Protective Service, charged with the protection of Russian high-ranking state officials. The Aurus cars are expected to become available for sales to the general public in the beginning of 2019.

The vehicles will be available for sale in Asia and the middle East in 2020. Retail prices are expected to start at 10 million rubles ($147,000).
