Russian Direct Investment Fund CEO Awarded France's Legion of Honor - Press Release

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 09th November, 2018) Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), was awarded the Legion of Honor, France's highest order of merit, by French President Emmanuel Macron, the RDIF press release said Friday.

"Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), the sovereign wealth fund of Russia, has been awarded the title of the Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honour, by the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron for his paramount contribution to strengthening cooperation between Russia and France," the press release read.

The award will be presented by French Ambassador to Russia Sylvie Bermann on November 19.

"I am grateful to the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, for his recognition and such a high appreciation of RDIF's contribution to strengthening bilateral relations between Russia and France.

This award is a reflection of the progress we have achieved through investment cooperation in recent years, as well as an incentive for further proactive work," Dmitriev said, as quoted in the press release.

The RDIF CEO added that the investment in the Russian-French investment platform set up jointly with CDC International Capital, a subsidiary of French public sector group Caisse des Depots, was likely to quadruple over the next five years.

As of early 2018, the total accumulated French direct investment in Russia was at $16.3 billion, Dmitriev said.
