Russian Embassy In Netherlands Says Aware Of Detention Of Country's Nationals In Amsterdam

The Russian Embassy in the Netherlands is aware of the situation with two Russian nationals detained in the Amsterdam airport, but the two women have not yet sought consular assistance, the mission told Sputnik Monday
AMSTERDAM (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th February, 2019) The Russian Embassy in the Netherlands is aware of the situation with two Russian nationals detained in the Amsterdam airport, but the two women have not yet sought consular assistance, the mission told Sputnik Monday.
Novaya Gazeta newspaper said earlier in the day that its correspondent Elena Milashina has been detained together with an employee of Memorial human rights organization Milana Bakheeva in the Amsterdam airport. According to the media, the two women were planning to attend a human rights meeting on Syrian refugees.
"The Russian Embassy in the Netherlands is aware of this situation. We are looking into the problem. But the women have not yet addressed the consulate or the embassy," the mission said.
