The Russian Emergencies Ministry is ready to send experts to Paris in order to contribute to establishment of the reasons behind the recent blaze in the Notre Dame cathedral, and the experts could also help to assess the resilience of Notre Dame's buildings, Russian Emergencies Minister Yevgeny Zinichev said on Friday at his meeting with French Ambassador to Russia Sylvie Bermann
In his opening address, Zinichev expressed condolences over the tragic consequences of the massive fire that had broken out at the iconic 850-year-old cathedral late on Monday, causing the collapse of its spire and two-thirds of its roof.
"Notre Dame is one of the greatest symbols of the global cultural and spiritual heritage. If it is necessary, the Russian Emergencies Ministry is ready to send to Paris its specialists with all the necessary equipment in order to help to establish the reasons behind the fire and to assess the resilience of the damaged buildings and constructions of the cathedral," Zinichev said.
