Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister, Hungarian Top Diplomat Discuss Russia-EU Relations

Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov on Thursday discussed with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto bilateral issues and relations between Russia and the European Union, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st March, 2019) Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov on Thursday discussed with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto bilateral issues and relations between Russia and the European Union, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"A detailed exchange of views took place on Russia the European Union and Russia the Council of Europe relations, the issue of the internal Ukrainian crisis, as well as on a number of other issues of common interest, including mutual support for candidates of the countries for election to international organizations," the statement said.

According to the statement, the parties outlined specific measures to further expand the legal basis of the bilateral cooperation.

Earlier in the day, Szijjarto said that Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjen and parliament speaker Laszlo Kover were planning to pay a visit to Russia in the near future.

Last September, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban paid a working visit to Russia, where he held talks with President Vladimir Putin. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the Russian-Hungarian cooperation as well as topical regional and international issues, according to the Kremlin.
