Russian Foreign Minister, Hong Kong Leader Discuss Bilateral Economic Cooperation - Moscow

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed on Tuesday economic and financial cooperation with Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 26th February, 2019) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed on Tuesday economic and financial cooperation with Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"Both sides commended the current state of Russian-Hong Kong relations and exchanged views on matters concerning the further expansion of practical cooperation in the trade-economic, financial and humanitarian fields," the ministry said.

This was Lavrov's first visit as foreign minister to Hong Kong. After the meeting with Lam, the Russian foreign minister headed to mainland China to hold separate talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj. The three ministers are set to meet in the Chinese town of Wuzhen for the 16th Russia-India-China (RIC) Foreign Ministerial Meeting on Wednesday.
