MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 13th December, 2018) The European Parliament's resolution on Russia's Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project has nothing to do with economy or energy issues, it is politics, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the European Parliament passed a resolution calling the Nord Stream 2 construction a political project and urging its cancellation.
"We understand that such resolutions have nothing to do with economics, energy needs, this is nothing but politics," Zakharova told a briefing.
Zakharova stressed that it was insane on Europe's part to oppose energy cooperation and its diversification because the European countries needed energy supplies.
