Russian Foreign Ministry Says Russian National Detained in Lithuania

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th December, 2018) Russian diplomats are looking at the circumstances of the detention on Tuesday of a Russian citizen in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"The [Russian] Embassy in Lithuania is actively investigating all the circumstances surrounding the detention by the Lithuanian police on December 18, 2018, of Russian citizen V.

V. Ivanov," a statement on the ministry's Facebook page read.

The ministry said the diplomats were working to arrange an urgent consular meeting with the detained man.
