Russian Ground Forces To Receive 5 New Air Defense Systems In 2019 - Defense Ministry

The Russian Ground Forces will be equipped with a brigade set of the air defense missile system S-300V4 and division sets of the missile systems Buk-M3 and Tor-M2 in 2019, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday,
"In 2019, the Ground Forces' military air defense units will receive five air defense missile systems and facilities.
As part of state defense order fulfillment, manufacturing companies will pass to the Russian Defense Ministry a brigade set of the air-defense system S-300V4, and division sets of the air-defense systems Buk-M3 and Tor-M2," the statement read.
Systematic annual buildup of troops' operational strength, along with switching to modern air defense systems, will make it possible to boost air defense forces' combat capabilities by over 30 percent by 2020, according to the ministry's estimates.
